And the squeaks and groans as the strings travel back and forth over the resonator pancake bridge must be a nightmare. 9 Proteus 8 months ago Very curious. Seemingly well-implemented, in that the bender is built into the function of the Bigsby (pulling up bends the B up to a pre-set stop) rather than as a knee lever. Allows the B string to be pulled to C# using the Vibrato arm pulled, very simply, sideways. The Dobrato has a beautiful, full-bodied, reverberate voice, combining the classic sound of a resophonic guitar with the vibrato and B Bender tonal variations. In this unique build, the Dobrato retains its natural deep and rich acoustic tone when amplified.
I bought this guitar from a technician/designer from Castle Creek Guitars in Colorado. He had performed the modification of the Bigsby B5 tailpiece with a biscuit resonator; to create notes that otherwise would not be possible. He used his own bracing techniques that he personally developed by using quality parts. It is a round neck resonator. I have only played it a few times and it is in pristine condition. Included is the voodoo guitar strap along with the Godin TRIC guitar case.
